Bivalves - Humans
An examination of what sets humans apart from bivalves, grounded in our shared exposure to loss and death. Like bivalves, humans carry an inner vulnerability, but we also possess the capacity to feel, grieve, and hold memory after a pivotal experience. The printed matter brings together essays, literary excerpts, film critiques, and poems, sequenced through the stages of how a pearl is created as a metaphor for my personal experience of loss following my grandmother’s death.
